Support Meetings
MDSN sponsors support meetings in the Greater Portland area and the Lewiston-Auburn area monthly. These meetings are an opportunity for parents and families to get to know others, and to build relationships with each other. The meetings are casual in atmosphere, usually held in someone’s home. Gatherings
MDSN holds a social gathering each month in a different location. Past locations have included the Children’s Museum of Maine, Cumberland County YMCA, Winslow Park in Freeport, Wells Harbor Park in Wells, and many more! These are gatherings for the entire family, and are an opportunity to interact with other families who have a loved one with Down syndrome in a fun, social way. Playgroups

Mom’s only Events
MDSN has recently begun holding events for Mom’s only. We know that being a Mom is a wonderful, rewarding, exhausting endeavor. We want to give our Mom’s a chance to kick back, relax and recharge, and to do so in the company of other Mom’s who know the unique challenges of having a child with Down syndrome. Mom’s Events currently include Mom’s Nights Out, but in the coming months, we will be offering other fun opportunities as well. D.A.D.S
MDSN is proud to sponsor a chapter of Dads Appreciating Down Syndrome (D.A.D.S.). D.A.D.S. is a national organization whose mission is to assist and support, through fellowship and action, the fathers and families of individuals with Down syndrome.
