NEWS
- We have a new name! Southern Maine Down Syndrome Family Network is now Maine Down Syndrome Network. There are many reasons for this. First, and least important, it's easier to say, and to type! :) Also, over the last few years, we have grown to support members from all over the state of Maine, from Kittery to Eagle Lake. From York County to Washington County. We no longer support only Southern Maine, and we want to be clear that people from ALL parts of our great state are welcome and valued members of our organization. Additionally, although families continue
to be our main focus, we are increasingly receiving calls from professionals and educators looking for resources and support. We want to include these important voices in our organization, and do more to support them in their invaluable efforts with our kids. Our web address will not change.

- We are so proud that one of our members, Josh Parenteau has been chosen to run in the 2010 Boston Marathon. Josh will be running as part of a charity team selected to support the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress and to promote awareness for individuals with Down syndrome. If you'd like to follow Josh as he prepares, or contribute to his fundraising efforts for this great cause, please visit his blog. Good Luck Josh!
